Quick answer
Open VaultRE in the latest version of Google Chrome, then clear your browser cache and reload. If it's still slow, disable browser extensions, check your internet, and look at the VaultRE status page to rule out an outage. Signing out and back in clears a stale session.
WHY IT HAPPENS
It's usually the browser, not VaultRE.
VaultRE is a cloud app that lives entirely in your web browser, so the way it performs depends heavily on the browser you use, how much junk has built up in it, and how solid your internet is. An out-of-date or unsupported browser, a full cache, a misbehaving extension or a flaky Wi-Fi connection will all make VaultRE feel slow or stop it loading — even when VaultRE's own servers are perfectly fine. The steps below rule those out one at a time.
THE FIX
Work through these in order.
- Use a supported, up-to-date browserVaultRE is built and tested for the latest version of Google Chrome, and it runs best there. If you're on an older browser, Internet Explorer, or Edge in "IE mode", switch to current Chrome. Make sure Chrome itself is fully updated (Menu → Help → About Google Chrome will update it and restart), then try VaultRE again.
- Clear your cache and hard-refreshA stale cache is the single most common cause of a slow or half-loaded page. In Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + Delete, choose "Cached images and files" and clear it, then reload VaultRE. A quick hard refresh (Ctrl + Shift + R) often does the trick on its own.
- Turn off browser extensionsAd blockers, VPN plug-ins, privacy tools and password managers can interfere with VaultRE and slow the page down. Open an Incognito window (Ctrl + Shift + N) — which runs with extensions off — and load VaultRE. If it's fast there, re-enable your extensions one at a time to find the culprit.
- Check your internet connectionOpen a couple of other websites. If they're also slow or won't load, the issue is your connection, not VaultRE. Try a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi, restart your router if needed, and confirm no one else is saturating the line with large uploads.
- Check the VaultRE status pageIf VaultRE is slow or down for several people in your office at once, it may be a VaultRE-side outage or scheduled maintenance rather than your PC. Check the official VaultRE status page for any reported incidents before troubleshooting each machine.
- Sign out and back inA session that's been left open for days can go stale. Sign out of VaultRE completely, close the browser tab, reopen it and sign back in. This forces a fresh, clean session.
- Restart the browser and the PCIf it's still sluggish, close the browser entirely (or restart the computer) to clear memory that's been used up by other tabs and apps running all day. Reopen and load only VaultRE to see if performance returns.
If VaultRE is slow for everyone, every day — and it's not an outage — the bottleneck is often your office internet, aging PCs or an overloaded network rather than any single browser. That's the point to bring in your IT provider, who can measure what's actually happening on the line and the devices instead of guessing.
