Quick answer
Make sure you're on an up-to-date supported browser (Chrome or Edge work best), then clear the cache and reopen PropertyMe. Still slow? Open PropertyMe in a private/incognito window to rule out a browser extension, and check status.propertyme.com to see whether it's a platform-wide issue rather than just your PC.
WHY IT HAPPENS
It's usually the browser, not PropertyMe.
PropertyMe is a cloud application that runs entirely inside your web browser — there's no program installed on your PC. That's great for updates and access, but it means anything that slows your browser down slows PropertyMe down too. An old browser version, a stuffed-up cache, an ad-blocker or password extension getting in the way, or a shaky internet connection are the four most common culprits. Genuine outages do happen, but they're the exception — which is why the status page is one of your first checks, not your last.
THE FIX
Work through these in order.
- Use a supported, up-to-date browserPropertyMe runs best on the current version of Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge; recent Safari is fine on Mac. Avoid Internet Explorer entirely. Update your browser to the latest version — an outdated browser is one of the most common causes of pages loading slowly or breaking.
- Clear your browser cacheOver time your browser stores old copies of pages that can conflict with PropertyMe's latest version. In your browser settings go to Privacy → Clear browsing data, tick Cached images and files, clear it, then fully close and reopen the browser and sign back in.
- Test in a private / incognito windowOpen a new incognito (Chrome/Edge) or private (Safari) window and log into PropertyMe there. Incognito ignores your cache and disables most extensions, so if PropertyMe runs fine here, the problem is a cached file or an add-on in your normal browser.
- Disable problem extensionsAd-blockers, VPN, security and password-manager extensions can interfere with cloud apps. Turn your extensions off one at a time (or use the incognito result above), reload PropertyMe, and re-enable them once you've found the one causing trouble.
- Check your internet connectionOpen a couple of other websites or run a quick speed test. If everything is slow, the issue is your connection or Wi-Fi rather than PropertyMe — try a wired connection or reboot your modem/router before troubleshooting further.
- Check the PropertyMe status pageGo to status.propertyme.com to see real-time service status. If PropertyMe has posted an outage or degraded performance there, it's on their side and you simply need to wait for the fix — no point clearing caches on every machine in the office.
- Sign out and back inIf it's still misbehaving, sign out of PropertyMe completely, close the browser, reopen it and sign in fresh. This clears a stale session and often gets things moving again.
If it's slow for the whole office — and the status page is all green — the bottleneck is usually your local network or internet, not PropertyMe. Constant slowness across cloud apps like PropertyMe, Microsoft 365 and your phones is a sign your connection or network hardware needs a proper look. That's the point to bring in your IT provider rather than clearing caches machine by machine.
